Hi sweet little humans :) Lucky you guys, you get 2 posts in one this week. I have been very busy with 2 visitors and lots of activities. More red rocks, more horse lessons, lots of eating, new movies, and still SO much sunshine here.
The vibe:

Breakfast burritos, indigo river, and couch rot days.
Doing:
Polina, one of my nearest, dearest, longest (and weirdest) friends came to visit and we went fishing. I have never been before but this is another thing I got to check off my bucket list. We had a great trip to Bass pro (that place is literally so insane lol). And then spent probably 3 of our 4 hours on the lake untangling our lines.
We were actually sitting out there watching youtube videos so if you try this bring a fisher with you – and a pair of scissors. I am now the proud owner of my own fishing pole and tackle box so I am fully committed to this hobby. And yes, i did stab the live worm through the hook (don’t worry, I released the extra ones into the grass).

Wearing:
Went to an indigo dying workshop yesterday. I wasn’t super sold on the idea because I don’t think I’ve ever really worn anything tie-dye in my life but these turned out so cool and it was SUPER fun to do. I like how it’s all one color and the blue is the prettiest. Obsessed and hopefully will be able to do again soon. Made 3 things and will definitely be wearing 2 of them.

Watching:
I’m back in my silly movie era. Had the sweetest wine and movie night featuring Zac Efron (That Awkward Moment + Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates). Also watched Popstar Never Stop Popping. If you know the lonely island songs and you have never seen this movie you have to watch this movie. Comedy Gold.
Eating:
I got a pasta maker for my birthday over the summer (thanks mom <3) and i literally LOVE it. I have perfected the most basic noodle shape but still need to practice other ones. And also experiment with sauces. My go to is a vodka sauce obviously or carbonara, so silky and delicious. It’s so easy to make the dough and roll it out with this machine. If you've ever wanted to get into this doing this, get the roller it helps so much. Fresh pasta night is literally my fav, everyone loves it.

Reading:
Ok, controversial time. I know a lot of don’t like Elon Musk but I’ve been reading Walter Isaacson’s new book about him (Isaacson wrote the famous book about Steve Jobs). It’s so good and interesting, well written, and detailed (and also very long). You can say what you want about Elon, but the man has ~~ vision ~~.
“To anyone I’ve offended, I just want to say, I reinvented electric cars and I’m sending people to Mars in a rocket ship. Did you think I was going to be a chill, normal dude?” - Elon Musk, on SNL May 2021
Listening:
This is a new one for me, i discovered Women Who Travel podcast by Condé Nast Traveler editor, Lale Arikoglu. I haven’t listened to too many of their episodes yet so I can provide a more full review in the future but the one I did listen to was with Kate Kassin from Bon Appetit who manages the Best New Restaurant list they put out every year. This episode was about traveling to eat which is something I can so relate to, she talked about how it’s really the best way to structure a trip to a new place and I couldn’t agree more. I’m always researching before I fly.
I also loved what they did with the list this year, by not ranking them in a specific order because there are just so many good places to eat!!! I also appreciated how they really make an effort to go out of NYC/ LA and find upcoming places across the country (hopefully more colorado ones next year). Definitely check this list out if you're traveling in the US.
Pinky promise swear i’ll see you next week <3 no more skipping. Xox
Drop a comment below, lmk what you think i love to hear from you.
