BEST OF 2024

Alright finally it’s here. I’ve had this list in my phone for months and finally am getting it together. In no particular order, here are my top favorite bites of the entire year. I really tried to include some of my more casual favs too and places i just keep (or can't wait) to go back to.

((As I’m looking over this list, I’m realizing all i like is so much sushi and mexican so next year I’m going to really try to expand. It’s just what I crave, im just a girl, sorry.))

Flour + Water
San Francisco

I went here for my birthday and we did the tasting menu, everything here was very good but there was one thing that was unlike anything I have ever put in my mouth before. I don’t even know how to describe it so here it is straight from the menu “BLACK TRUFFLE SFORMATO crispy potato, truffle honey, parmigiano crema.” I almost want to say it’s like a savory tiramisu with crunchy bits at the bottom, like it had layers? I would go back and just order 10 of these. (Flour + Water)

I have been following Roy Choi since I was in college in LA and just love his vibe and personality and fusion take on everything so i was so excited to go here on my Vegas girls trip. We ordered WAY too much food and everything was incredible. Probably one of the most high quality meals of my life. Gochugang carbonara is one i am still thinking about and my mouth is drooling rn. Bar Sera
Conshahocken

I was in Conshohocken, PA for a work trip and had very low expectations for food but this restaurant is adorable. Seriously farm to table (our adorable waiter whipped out the map and showed us the farms). Usually i’m not a huge scallop fan but these changed my mind. So light and buttery, with fried leeks and a risotto. I wanted to kiss the chef. (Bar Sera)

Kawa Ni
Denver

My new favorite find in Denver this year, everything about this place is perfect and it gets better every time I go back. The red cabbage pear salad is to die for and to onigiri curry is impeccable. Drinks are also top notch. This is great for a group so you can try everything. (Kawa Ni)

Fresh Fish
Japan

Alright, if you talked to me after I came back from this trip (where my primary purpose was to eat sushi) I was not happy :( but I reflected and the problem was EVERYTHING had a fish sauce in it. Like on days where I wanted to just eat a salad it was fish sauce dressing or when I wanted plain udon it had fish sauce. I think I was so sick of fish sauce.I also ate some weird things like monkfish liver. But I do have to put this on here bc overall, the quality of the fish is incredible and the dining experience is so meticulous, it really is an art.

Tacos Al Vapor
Los Altos

A NEW gem, shoutout to my mom for knowing my favorite thing to eat. This tiny little new spot just opened up right by house and it is my ideal taco. Perfect tortillas, perfect rice, perfect beans and the salsa bar of my dreams. They have pickled onions and jalapenos (which are actually so good). I go in here and literally order 6 tacos.

Hawaii

Duh, Hawaiian poke. Not much to say here. Ate it on the beach, it just hit.

Plimoth
Denver

I almost don’t want to put this here because I want to keep this little secret. Plimoth is the most adorable, unassuming neighborhood eatery. I’m pretty sure their menu changes every day which is the only bad thing I can say about this place because everything is so incredible and when you go back again its not on the menu. I had a life changing cauliflower gratin here last year and then recently a sunflower butter toast. Idk, every single dish in here is so unique and intentional. (Plimoth)

Sushi Roku
Palo Alto

New fav sushi spot at home, dare I say, beats Nobu. It’s basically a copy cat the menu is so similar but its a little more casual. The fish is so fresh and they have this yuzu olive oil that was so new and delicious to me. (Roku)

Habanero Salsa
Akumal Mexico

When i was in mexico, our house chefs made this fresh habanero salsa that i was literally drinking like water. If you know anything about me its that i RLY love spice and I rly love habanero bc it is mind numbingly spicy. I was eating this for breakfast, lunch and dinner every single day. Also they were making us fresh tortillas which made everything so good. I don’t have any pics of the food bc i devoured it the second it hit my plate so here's the view.

Leven Deli
Denver

This is a recent find for me in Denver and I’m literally obsessed. Ive been going every week just to get a loaf of bread and it has improved my quality of life 10x it brings me such joy. It’s so cute inside and they let you get deli sides with everything. I’ve never been a huge sandwich girl but recently it’s all I want to eat. They also have the most incredible tahini chocolate brownie which i also have been getting every week and i dont even like chocolate like that. The barley and mint salad also dill pasta salad– so refreshing. I can’t wait for summer when I can sit on the patio and eat everything on the menu. (Leven)

Alright, technically this was the first 2 days of 2025 but im counting it here or else I’ll forget. Incredible. This place is in like the japanese outreach house idk what to call it in Kensington and has a cute little shop downstairs. I had a fried avocado which was so unexpected and delicious. Again, just such high quality fish and unique things from the grill. This was a 10/10 meal until halfway through dinner i realized my credit card was hacked for thousands and thousands of dollars. Oooo this dinner was just so fun with my girlies, part of this list is just for me to remember how special it is to all come together around a table with people you love and get your body and soul nourished. I mostly remember incredible cornbread and some kind of sashimi and maybe like a pasta (too many espresso martinis). But this was my fav meal in Nashville and the vibes inside are so cute. (Adeles)

El Noa Noa
Denver

Nothing much to say here except BIG mexican. I’m pretty picky about my mexican food and this is just solid. Again, the rice is right, the beans are right. It’s hard to find outside of California. I get the chile relleno crispy and its chefs kiss. Big margaritas. So yum (El Noa Noa)

Le Diplomate
Washington D.C.

This place is so famous and so close to my sister now and I’ve never been which I can not believe. Us girls had the loveliest brunch and could not decide what to order as in we literally could not pick. Classic french food done perfectly. Everything was so good, I wanted to go back again the next day. Gougères is just incroyable. (Le Diplomate)

Apollo Bagels

This bagel was the best i've ever had and started my months long obsessesion with capers. I can NOT get enough. so good, worth the line can't wait to eat again. (Apollo)
