WOW one month since. I know you’ve been waiting, I’ve had a very busy couple weeks. My sister came to visit and then I went home for Thanksgiving and then I had to go to Vegas for a work trip. I don’t even know how to fit everything I’ve been up to in here but I will try. Life has just been so sweet and happy and full and fun. I hope you are all getting cozy in the cold with your christmas trees. <3

The vibe:

Doing:

Ok this has to be a week by week, there’s no other way.

When my sister was here we went to Colorado springs which was super fun and beautiful and not as far as I thought so I will be going back soon. Went to the zoo, went out to dinner, cooked a BUNCH, played scattergories, I also started volunteering and brought her with me, we had a great weekend.

Had so much fun being home for Thanksgiving. It really is my favorite holiday i just love to be in the kitchen with my family <3 my cousins came, and we had our 10TH!! Friendsgiving. This was my first night out with my (new/old) digital camera. Found the one I got for my 12th birthday and I’m obsessed i can’t stop using it.

Vegas was crazy busy with all 60,000 brogrammers but so much fun. Time really does stop in those casinos, I always feel like I’m in that percy jackson time loop. (i won 4$ whole dollars at the slots).

Back in denver now for another week before I go home again, we got our Christmas tree and it is SO cute and cozy.

Wearing:

This is a silly one. It was my roommate’s birthday last weekend and we went to an adult bounce which was SO fun (and a safety hazard) but i seriously recommend this we all had the best time. But everyone was rocking these silly little zip up suits and grippy socks.

Also on the market for some cute, casual snow boots (like to go to the grocery store in a snowstorm not hike in the mountains) if anyone has suggestions.

Watching:

I started watching The Crown with my mom when I was home and I got really into it. So well made, I’m only on season two but so far am really enjoying it. Also saw the new Hunger Games movie. If you know me, you know I’m a freak for the Hunger games (like dressed up and went to the premiers). I was honestly a little disappointed by the new movie but it did make me go back and watch all the old ones. Katniss and Gale 4ever <3

Eating:

Where to even start, so much goodness. Obviously Thanksgiving is the highlight of food this month. I woke up last week and the actual first thought that entered my head was “jalapeno cheddar cornbread”. Can’t believe I have to wait a whole year to eat stuffing again :( Also got to eat at so many of my fav places back which is always the best.

Had some great food in Vegas, not that this is the best food scene but reminded me I really need to keep hunting down the good stuff in Denver. I think one of my 2024 resolutions is going to be to try at least 1 new restaurant every week.

Also been very into microgreens and sprouts lately. I’ve been putting them on top of literally everything I eat.

Reading:

To be really honest with you guys, one of the reasons I haven’t been blogging is because I haven’t been reading and I don’t know what to put here. At the beginning, it was really keeping me accountable because I love reading when I’m into it but when I’m busy im just so tired at the end of the day I netflix. If you have any suggestions for books you just can not put down then please share. Or tips for reading everyday, i think i need to start doing it in the morning instead of at night. I walked to the library today and picked up a few books so hopefully next week i'll have an actual update here.

Listening:

I know I’ve talked about this American Life on here before but seriously my favorite podcast. They had an episode last week about things our dads teach us (which is so much!!) but the last segment was a short story by Simon Rich. I LOVED it, beware parts of it are a little raunchy and not for kids but so interesting. Here’s the link so read it, its so fun. or even better listen to it. (it's ACT 3)
