I have been so exhausted this week, I had to take a sick day. I think i’ve just been so busy and need to remember to not overschedule myself. Work has been veryy busy but i had a fun week. It was 65 degrees and sunny on thursday and 2 days later it snowed for 8 hours straight. I know ive said this a million times but the weather here is soo weird. Added a new section to the blog, keep reading to see.

The vibe:

Way too much wine, candy store, and geese.

Doing:

Went to a comedy show on Wednesday. I freaking love comedy shows, im not like really into standup like people who watch watch entire specials on netflix but i do love to watch tik tok clips and i do love to go to the shows. I just think it’s so funny and even when it’s bad it’s still funny. This is something i want to do much more bc i never have a bad time and who doesn’t like to laugh.

Watching:

For some reason, I’m in like such a sports movie mood, i can’t stop watching sports things. Watched the Blind Side the other day which i hadnt seen in so long and made me sob. Then I watched Adam Sandler’s basketball movie, Hustle, which also kind of made me cry and i got a new crush from it. And then I watched the Kevin James movie, Home Team which also made me shed a tear. Idk what’s happening to me. 

Eating:

OOOO yay. I’ve been working hard all week and these took so much longer to do than I thought it would but …. New section on the website!! Did my top 12 in NYC, LA, Denver and my favorite one, best of 2023. Go look. 

 I’m also trying to get through my other lists from last year (Lisbon, CDMX, Cape town, NOLA, DC, etc) but im not sure if i want them to be more general or just food. Im thinking through it and also scheming other fun sections to add, so keep staying tuned. 

Reading:

Got “Between Two Strangers” last week and finished the whole thing in one night. I was home alone and this book really kind of scared me, i thought someone was in my house because in the book someone was stalking the girl and the whole thing was a big mystery but (spoiler alert) in the end she got 3 million dollars from an ex lover because it turned out his brother killed her sister. I feel like the books i pick up at the library are so random and no one has ever heard of them so i dont feel bad about spoiling them but this one was actually really good.

Listening:

This is seriously a good rec if you’re looking for a new podcast, episode 2 just came out on spotify. This is a new segment from the New Yorker called In the Dark and the series right now is called “The Runaway Princesses" and the story is actually wild. It’s about the daughters of Sheikh Mohammed of Dubai and how they all were abused and tried to escape. This is real, good investigative journalism. So interesting def worth a listen, i am patiently awaiting the next episode.
