(Denver, CO)

MY FIRST SNOW IN DENVER!!! So pretty. I know im going to be so over this in a couple weeks but this first one was so pretty and beautiful and peaceful and pretty. I actually loved it. And it’s not even as cold as i thought it would be. Had a super busy week this week with work and i have to pack for like a month which i haven’t started yet but excited to go home :)

The vibe:

Bows, snow, and books

Doing:

Our christmas party!! So fun :) as people were arriving it started to snow which was so perfect.  We had soo many friends in our house but it was so sweet and cozy. We did a giant white elephant (very hard to coordinate with 30+ people) but everyone got a little present. (i stole the karaoke machine and then it got stolen from me :(  It was so fun to host and plan everything out, little drinks and activities and have everyone all together. Also LOVE our christmas tree. I put these little bows on, I wasn’t sure how it was going to turn out but in the end full stamp of approval.

Wearing:

Tights!! Tis’ the season for tights. Picked up the cutest little floral pair at target and will keep hunting for more fun prints. I wear a lot of black and this is such a fun way to add a *little bit of spice * I get them cheap bc i inevitably rip them every single time but if anyone has a pair/brand they haven’t ripped let me know.

Also, i finally ordered some snow boots … in white?? Let me know if this was a bad idea. They’re super cute but my mom says they might get dirty in the sludgy snow. Please tell me if you have experience with this.

Watching:

I’m a freak for tiktok and sometimes i will watch entire movies on there (in 57 parts). One that kept popping up for me was Front of the Class. I shed a little tear watching one of the clips and so I finally watched the actual movie. It’s so sweet and cute and warm and fuzzy and feel good. Basically about a teacher who has Tourettes syndrome, the kids in it are adorable.

Another thing i watched in clips for months on tiktok was Young Sheldon and then i finally started watching it for real and i literally love it. One of my new comfort shows and better than big bang theory in my humble opinion.

Eating:

I made jello shots for the first time for our Christmas party but the best part of it was these little frosted cranberries I made to put on top. SO easy, just soak them in simple syrup, then lay them on a cooling rack (or else they will stick together as i learned) and then toss in sugar. I honestly didn’t know you could eat fresh cranberries like that but they were so good, like a little sour skittle. Such a fun holiday garnish for any drink or even just as a little snack + they were so pretty. sorry for the blurry pic, we were rushing setting everything up.

Also, had the best taco I’ve had so far in Denver and sorry but i’m gatekeeping. inspired me to continue my good food quest out here though,

Reading:

Had the coziest night and basically read this entire book start to finish. “Hold my girl” by Charlene Carr. Basically, these 2 women did IVF and the lab tech switched their eggs and they don’t find out until the baby is like a year old. So one woman carried her, birthed her, and has raised her but she’s technically the daughter of someone else. There’s some plot twists that I won’t spoil but they both want full custody (not to share) and it goes through the whole trial and everything. WWYD (what would you do?). I honestly understand why neither of them want to walk away but I also understand why one of them maybe should?

Listening:

Dinner SOS another one of my favs <3 live love laugh chris morocco. They did an episode all about cookies. Which is so perfectly timed because the NYT just released their annual 7 holiday cookies. this mean it’s officially cookie week. I feel like I’ve said this on here before, I’m not much of a baker bc i lack the patience (like for example, i dont believe in preheated ovens). But I feel ready and mentally prepared to try at least one of these recipes.

stay warm and stay safe you little chickens <3 xox

Sounds like the frosted cranberries would be a perfect garnish for the Thanksgiving drink! We just picked up the ingredients for our cookie baking this year. Ria is making frosted sugar cookies, Samir is making his chocolate chip cookies, and I am making ginger cookies. The Mexican Hot Chocolate recipe from the NYT list look really good!
