(California)

Home sweet home. Always goes by way too fast, but so relaxing to be home. Fell asleep on the couch every single night, ate so much good food, went to the beach. Already miss my family <3

Making some updates to the site and going to take some time this week to do other city food guides.

The vibe:

ree

Green, mom’s kitchen, and puppy cuddles.

Doing:

One of my fav places at home is this adorable little goat farm and this is the best time to go because it’s spring so all the baby goats are there. I LOVE little baby goats i want one so bad. It’s just the most perfect beautiful little place, they have a little farm store with goat cheese, a jellies, and the best harissa on earth (which is why i wanted to go but unfortunately they had just run out but i’ve decided im going to try to make my own at home) Stopped by the beach after and the wildflowers were starting to bloom. Just the most loveliest perfect day.

Wearing:

New belt alert. Someone was giving away things for free and i grabbed this which is technically a bag strap i think but I will be wearing as a belt. So cute for spring.

Watching:

Rewatched The Messiah this week. I had watched it a few years ago but it’s on netflix now and it’s so good. Highly recommend – basically if the actual Messiah came to earth would anyone believe it but it’s just really well done. If you do watch this, lmk bc i want to talk about it.

Also watched the warriors lose this weekend :( My dad and sister were so excited to see Wembanyama and he was injured and so was steph curry which sucked but still always fun to see the game.

Eating:

More bakingggg… i made this lemon loaf to take over to a friend's house. Used fresh lemons from the garden and I love this recipe because it uses yogurt which makes it so moist and it’s also not too sweet. It called for blueberries but i used raspberries and blackberries instead I think you could put in any fruit to be honest and it would be good.

Reading:

Started and finished Pineapple Street this week. I was sick the first few days i was home so i zoomed through this one. I’m pretty sure i got it from Oprah or the New yorker’s best books of 2023 and honestly I was underwhelmed. Definitely a fun read once i picked it up i couldnt put it down but the entire plot is basically 2 trust fund girls realizing they’re mean to other people who don’t also have trust funds. 3.7/5

Also started All the Light We Can Not See on the plane ride home, so far really good i’m already pretty far in.

Listening:

Palestine has been on my mind, especially with Ramadan starting. I know I talk about This American Life all the time but this episode really was so moving. It’s a series of phone calls with Yousef, who is in Gaza. The reporter and him talk over the course of a couple months and you hear what’s happening to his family as time passes. He’s such a sweet, positive personality even with everything going on. Telling stories like this and putting faces to conflict is such an important part of journalism, storytelling, media, and news. This is a really good episode you should definitely listen to.

Preparing for the alleged 2 feet of snow tomorrow, wish me luck <3 Love you chickens
